Dante’s Second Life

Dante’s Second Life is a program I am writing to teach myself about C# and the .NET framework in general.  It consists of two main parts: the libSecondLife library for access to the Second Life grid, and the Dante learning chatbot engine (written in Visual Basic) for human-interaction control.  I’ll be releasing snapshots of the code and binaries quite often, and anything related to the project that I release can be considered public-domain unless otherwise stated.  I hope you will be able to get some use out of it, but I make no warranties as to the quality or usability of my code — this is a learning project and should be viewed as such.  If it causes your computer to catch fire and you lose your master’s thesis, don’t blame me.  I would, however, appreciate any bug reports or problems encountered when using this software, so I may continously improve it.

For anyone who wants to test out an online version of this ‘bot, try to find Senshi Miklos (usually hanging around near Morris 128,128,0).  Please keep in mind, however, that because Senshi is a LEARNING chatbot, and the database I am using is very new, the responses you get will be fairly nonsensical to begin with.  Only with constant patience will Senshi evolve into something which can hold coherent conversations.
